This study has examined the Effect of Organizational Culture on Employee Motivation, with arnfocus on the Addis Ababa City Government Plan and Development Commission. The researchrnemployed explanatory and correlation research design methods. A total of 130 questionnairesrnhave been distributed to the employee of the commission. From the distributed questionnaire 123rnwere returned and data were analyzed based on the 94.6% returned questionnaire. They alsornused a structured questionnaire to assess the impression of the study area employee integratedrnwith secondary data. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statisticsrn(correlation and regression). The finding indicates that with a mean value of 3.36 and SD ofrn1.06, a culture of hierarchy emerged as the most dominant culture. Also, the result indicated thatrnclan, adhocracy, hierarchy, and market culture had a positive relationship with employeernmotivation. Except for adhocracy culture, clan, hierarchy, and market culture are significantrnunique contributions in the prediction of employee motivation. And also from the unstandardizedrnbeta value hierarchy culture is the most dominantly influential variable to employee motivationrnin AACGPDC. Clan culture had no significant effect on employee motivation of AACGPDC.rnBased on these findings, the researcher provided recommendations for policy, practice, andrnfuture research.
