The main focl(' of this study was to examine how thernteaching-learning proce . 0/ mathematics was going on at Yekatitrn25/67 Secondary School in Hadiya Zone and factors affecting thernteaching-learning process. Having done this, a few speculativernsuggestions were given to improve teachers' teaching methodology.rnTo achieve what was aimed at, a qualitative case study wasrnemployed. For this purpo e, four teachers and twenty- four studentsrnwere participated as a source of information in the study. Takingrnthese subjects, the data lVas collected through interview, FGD,rnobservation and document analysis. At the end, the study revealedrnnegative feelings of teachers 10IVard their profession and theirrntraditional methods of leaching in class. As teachers confirmed andrnobserved, this was attributed 10 large number of students in a classrnand teachers load allotment. Moreover, the study indicated that therernwas less students '-teachers ' Inleraction, shortage of appropriaternteaching materialS and improper utilization of the teaching materialSbyrnthe teachers. Further, the study showed that teachers did not getrnadequate training and all'arenes so as to improve their teachingrnmethodology.rnFinally, on the basIs q/the findings, it was recommended thatrnteachers should be trained and qualified in order to imprOl e thernteaching-learning process.
