The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectrnof experience, qualification, attitude, school Location andrnmaterial-financial supply on application of teaching materialsrnand SPC use.rnTo this end, data were collected thrOUgh ~qUestionnaire,rnclassroom observation and interview . The randomly selectedrnsample included 94 male and 64 female teachers , eightrndirectors and eight SPC co-ordinators selected from four urbanrnand four rural schools in and surrounding Nekemte. The datarncollected were analyzed using statistical methods such as ttestrn, chi -square t est , pearson ' s product moment correlation,rnmean and percentage .rnThe results revealed that less experienced and lessrnqualified teachers performed significantly higher than thernmore experienced and more qualified teachers in applyingrnteaching materials and using SPCs. It was also found out thatrnthe difference between urban and rural schools in teachingrnmaterial application and SPC use is not significant. Besides,rnit was indicated that attitude towards teaching andrnapplication of teaching materials as well as SPC use arernsignificantly , positively and highly correlated. Furthermore,rnless experienced and less qualified teachers demonstrated morernfavourable attitude towards teaching than their more qualifiedrnand more experienced counter parts .
