NGOs in collaboration with Oromia Education Bureau were involved Inrnimplementation of ABE curriculum with the intention of expanding access torneducation and attaining equity towards access to educational opportunityrntowards the realization of universal primary education. But, the situation ofrncurriculum implementation of NGOs supported ABE centers in maintainingrnquality education has not been significantly furnished with adequate study. Tornthis effect, this study alms to assess the situation of curriculumrnimplementation of ABE in North Shoa and South West Shoa Zones of Oromia inrnterms of practice and constraints by taking the experiences of supportingrnNGOs.rnThis study has briefly analyzed and systematized relevant information as wellrnas research findings of others in the review of related literature. A descriptivernsurvey research method was employed to conduct this study. Eight centersrnwere selected purposefully from two zones of Oromia; and a representativernsample of 100 (62.5%) of respondents were involved in the study. Data wererncollected from informants through questionnaire, interview and focus grouprndiscussion. The data collected through questionnaire were analyzed USIngrnpercentages, and that of interviews were analyzed in narration .rnResults of the study showed that there were improvements In curriculumrnmaterials preparation and provision. Beside, community participation wasrnobserved in supporting ABE centers. In contrary, female facilitators were notrnadequately represented in implementation, and there was inadequacy ofrntraining and supports for facilitators. Furthermore, administrators andrncoordinators lacked commitment in implementation, and there was lack ofrninvolvement by concerned body as a team in preparation of curriculum.rnIt is suggested that stakeholders of ABE in North Shoa and South West ShoarnZoens of Oromia should identify factors affecting the implementation of ABErncurriculum and plan to address them during implementation
