As its central aim, this study attempts to examine the impact of sporadicrnlocal ethnic conflict on livelihoods. This is a case study to show that howrnconflict between the Booran and the Garri affects their lives andrnlivelihoods. It also tries to critically look different theoretical approaches tornassess the genesis, root causes and aggravating factors of the conflict. Thernmethodology used is collecting information from primary and secondaryrnsources, organizing/ reorganizing and analyzing this information.rnThe ever groWIng conflict has resulted in a large number of humanrncausalities and the disruption of social institutions that normalize ethnicrntensions and conflicts. Displacement by way of migration to otherrnterritories including to neighboring countries, and destruction of propertyrn(livestock, residences and wells and pasture), damage on the ecologicalrnsystem are commonly experienced capital impacts of conflict.rnRecommendations are made as to how conflicts resolved in the long run.
