The Interrelationship Among Health-related Behaviors Health Consciousness And Psychological Well-being Among The Academic Staff Members Of Jimma University
The purpose of this study was to examine the interrelationship amongrnhealth consciousness, health-related behaviors and psychological wellbeingrnin adulthood at Jimma University. The study aimed also at exploringrnthe interaction of health-related behavior, health consciousness andrnpsychological well-being of the participants at Jimma University. Thernparticipants who took part in the study were 110 Jimma Universityrnacademic staff The instrument used for data collection was structuredrnquestionnaire and scales. To analyze and systemize the data descriptivern(average, percents and standard deviations), and mUltiple regression andrnpartial correlation analysis were used. The findings of this study revealedrnthat most participants had proper health-related behavior, pay attentionrnfor their health and have high sense of psychological well-being. A positivernsignificant correlation was found between health-related behavior andrnpsychological well-being, and health-related behavior was significantrnindependent predictor of psychological well-being. Generally, the finding ofrnthis study indicated, how far health-related behavior and healthrnconsciousness influence optimal functioning and development at one's truernand highest potential of adults.
