Malaria is sever disease in Ethiopia, 75% 0f the land is malarias area and more than 54 million people are vulnerable. The aims of this study was to determine the prevalence of malaria who attended in Aysaita primary hospital for the last four year (2006 -2009E.C) A retrospective study was conducted to determine the prevalence of malaria infection from laboratory registered records in Aysaita primary hospital. All malaria cases reported between 2006-2009E.C. were reviewed and the data finalized using chi-square and ANOVA to analysis the data. During four years a total of 43574 thick and thin Giemsa stained blood films were examined for malaria diagnosis in Aysaita primary hospital and 3,830 (8.7%) microspically confirmed malaria cases were reported with slightly falling down from 2006 to 2008 E.C and slightly increased in 2009 E.C. Regarding the identified plasmodium species, Plasmodium falciparum and plasmodium vivax accounted for 94.6% and 5.3% of the cases respectively. Malaria was reported in all age groups and both sexes.
