An Economic Analysis Of Education Experience And Earnings The Case Of Selected Urban Centers In Ethiopia

With the growing interest in human capital theory, assessing the impact ofrneducation and experience on earnings has been given special emphasis. the mainrnobjective of this study is to examine and estimate the influence of education andrnwork experience on earnings of household heads in the selected urban centers inrnEthiopia. the earning junction is used to estimate the impact of human capitalrnvariables using secondary sources of data, which is collected by the Addis Ababarnuniversity and g6tebrg university. the main findings of the study are. (a)rnhuman capital variables (education and experience) are most important inrninfluencing earnings of the household heads for both wage/salary employees andrnown-account private business workers; (b) male household heads who arernwage/salary employees on average, receive higher earnings than femalernhousehold heads with the same level of education, experience, occupation rnand sector of activity;
