main objective of the study was to assess the relationship between teachers’rnparticipation in decision making and job Satisfaction in Addis Ababa city AdministrationrnArada sub city administration office Preparatory Schools. Primarily, the study used arncorrelational design.. Questionnaire was distributed to 58 teachers chosen using systematicrnrandom sampling techinc. Interviwes was also used to collect relevant data from principalsrnand vice principals. The data was analyzed using one sample t-test, independent sample ttestrnand Pearson correlation methods. One sample t-test was used to evaluate the level ofrnteachers’ participation in decision making process and the extent of teachers’ jobrnsatisfaction. Independent sample t-test was used to examine the deference in job satisfaction,rnparticipation in decision making process between male and female preparatory schoolrnteachers; and Pearson correlation coefficient was used to evaluate the magnitude ofrnrelationship teachers’ involvement and and their job satisfaction. The overall results of thernstudy indicated that teachers’ participation in decision making process was found to bernlow. Added to that teachers’ job satisfaction was also found low in the study area. Evenrnthough teachers of job satisfaction and level of satisfactions was genrally low, the findingsrnof the study also revealed male teachers’ decision making participation as well as jobrnsatisfaction is sgnficantlly higher than their female counter parts. The difference was alsornfound to be statically significant. Moreover, the two variables revealed significantrnintercorrelations r ranging from 0.399 to 0.552 and correlated positively. Furthermore, thernstudy concluded that the higher the level of teachers’ job satisfaction, the more the teachers’rnparticipation in school decision making process On the basis of the findings of the study, itrnhas been recommended that School authorities and government officials should need torndevelop and implement strategies to deal with the needs of teachers.rnKey words: Job satisfaction, teacher, participation and decision making
