A study of the erasslands in /olmera Iereda was made from ArnAugust 1979 to October 1979. One hundred and twenty stands werernsystematically sampled and the occurence of 118 plant species in thernstands recorded. Some environmental factors were recorded and soilrnsamples collected.rnComputations of the clas~ification of the vegetation using thernAssociation Analysis Technique was made at the University ofrnManchester Regional Computer Center.rnFour distinct vegetation types were tentatively identified fromrnthe dendrogram at higher levels of the classificatory hierarchy andrnwere statistically tested for significant contrasts.rnGradients of soil pH, conductivity, hue, and cation content arernpositively correlated with a decreasing drainago gradient and thesernare negatively corrclatod with an increasing grazing gradient.
