The objective of this study is to investigate the effects of leadership styles on organizationalrncommitment of Betzata General Hospital and Girum General Hospital employees. To this end,rnthe effect of transformational, transactional, and laissez-faire leadership styles on organizationalrncommitment dimensions (affective, normative and continuous) has been investigated. Descriptivernand correlational research design was used. A total sample of 90 employees of Betzata GeneralrnHospital and100employees of Girum General Hospitals were selected using random samplingrntechnique. Collected data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science. Results ofrnthis study suggest that leadership style of managers has a significant effect on organizationalrncommitment. Transformational and transactional leadership styles have positive effect onrnorganizational commitment. However, the effect of laissez-faire leadership on organizationalrncommitment is found out to be negative for Betzatha General Hospital but it has no effect forrnGirum General Hospital. On this basis, suggestions are offered to managers to increasernorganizational commitment of their subordinate employees by developing their leadership style.rnKeywords: Organizational commitment, Transformational leadership, Transactional leadership,rnlaissez-faire leadership
