The main purpose of this research paper is to study “The effects of employee welfarernschemes on job performance, the case of Action Against Hunger, Ethiopia Mission†Thernfour factors that have been examined in this study are employee welfare benefit scheme,rntraining, and development, safety and health in the workplace and genderrnmainstreaming. A total number of responses from 210 respondents were used for analysisrnin this research study. Questionnaires with closed-ended and five-point Likert scale itemsrnwere used as an instrument to collect data for the research. A total of 230 questionnairesrnwere distributed out of which 210 questionnaires were completed and returned. Thisrnrepresented a response rate of 91.30%, which is valid and used for analysis. The datarncollected were analyzed in SPSS Version 20.0. The researcher employed both descriptivernand explanatory research designs researcher also employed an explanatory researchrndesign to distinguish the circumstances and logical results connection betweenrnautonomous factors and, descriptive statistics were used to explain the demographicrncharacteristics of respondents by measuring mean and standard deviation. The result hasrnshown that the overall mean for the four aspects of employee welfare scheme, trainingrnand development, safety and health in the workplace, and gender mainstreaming werern3.79, 3.05, 3.44, 3.91, and 4.16, respectively which were all above the cut-off pointrndeveloped by Alfarra (2009) except training and development(3.05) which indicates thatrnthe four aspects of employee welfare schemes mentioned above are properly practiced inrnAction Against Hunger except training and development which needs furtherrnprogression. Research questions were tested using statistical analysis of Pearson’srnCorrelation and multiple linear regressions. The result has shown that employee welfarernbenefits, training and development, safety and health and gender mainstreamingrnsignificantly and positively affect job performances in Action Against Hunger.rnFurthermore, the aforementioned factors that affect the employee welfare scheme inrnAction Against Hunger significantly contribute 88.5% to job performance. But, this studyrnsuggests future researchers find out the magnitude and strength of the effects of the fourrnvariables on job performance in a similar humanitarian organization and find out if thernidentical result can be obtained
