In order to evaluate performance properly, developing and implementing arnworkable .system that suits the requirements ofa job is vital to prove that they are withinrnthe bounds' of the expected results.rnThis research is conducted with the objective of assessing the implementation process ofrnresult oriented peljormance management system (ROPMS) in the civil servicernorganizations focusing on identifying major achievements gained and challenges facedrnTo assess the situation three civil service organizations were selected for the studyrnthey are: Ministries of Finance and Economic Development, Ministry of Trade andrnIndusfly and MinistlY of Revenue.rnThe study employed qualitative research methodology. Data was collected throughrnquestionnaire me/hod and analyzed The main areas of focus in the study is torn/.Inders/and and analyze the major organiza/ional factors which contributed for properrnimplementa/ion of ROPMS, the appropriateness of the implementation process and thernlevel of commitment of managemen/ and employee to facilitate implementation ofrnROPMSfor /he intended results.rnThefindings reveal that creation of awareness about strategic planning, and ROPMS,rndeveloped a positive altilude towards vision, mission and objectives of organizations,rnrecognized as a belter system to minimize subjectivity and helped organization /0rnstreng/hen employee - supervisor rela/ionship are some of the achievements of thern.~yslem.rnThe necessity of maximizing stalf participation in the developmen/ of strategic plan,rnimprovemen/ in leadership quality, in/egrating ROPMS wi/h other systems of /hernorganiza/ions, absence of proper monitoring and evaluation sys/em and organ,rninadequacy of measurement standards, lack of proper culture to implement the systemrnare identified as major challenges faced during the implementation.
