The thesis, titled The Impact of Global Alliances on Liner Shipping Business Performance:rnThe Case of ESLSE is aimed at assessing and determining the impacts that global carrierrnalliances have on liner shipping business performance. In doing so, various documents forrnliterature review were referred from various sources. As a methodology, explanatoryrnresearch design was used, while quantitative research approach for this study wasrnemployed. Data were collected from both primary and secondary sources. Population ofrnthe study is ESLSE’s employees. The researcher as a sample design used non probabilityrnsampling; specifically purposive one was used. Accordingly, a sample size of 80 staffs wasrntaken based on Carvalho’s sample size determination method. Method of data collectionrnincluded questioner, interview of the experts from the Enterprise at different levels. Also,rnresponses from the questionnaire were coded and processed by using SPSS versionrn20.Analysis was carried out with both descriptive and inferential statistics. The result ofrnthis paper has shown that global carriers have a number of reasons to form strategic linerrnalliances.
