In the forward-thinking business environment, it is generally acknowledged that corporations arernplayers that must adopt societal concerns and demonstrate responsibility while conducting theirrnbusiness ventures. This principle has been there for years. Nevertheless, it is recently that it hasrnbeen started to be given the appropriate recognition by firms themselves and individuals inrnEthiopia.The study aimed at studying the perspectives of hospitals and regulatory office leadersrntowards corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities of private hospitals in Addis Ababa.Torninvestigate and identify the issues, a descriptive type of research was applied with a surveyrndesign. The study has been conducted on the basis of the quantitative research approach tornassess the perspectivesof hospitals and regulatory authority office leaders about the practices ofrnCSR in the selected 37 private hospitals. Primary data werecollectedthrough close endedrnquestionnaire from 81 hospital managers and 36 respective regulatory office leaders usingrnpurposive sampling method, leaderswith two years and above service are included in thernsample.The collected data was analyzed using SPSS version 20 Software.Generally, the majorrnfindingsof the study showed that regulatory office leadersâ€™ perceptions toward CSR activities ofrnprivate hospitals were significantly different from those of hospital leaders. Hospital leadersâ€™rnperceptions were more positive to their CSR activities than those of regulatory office leaders.rnHowever, both groups proved that environmental CSR practices of private hospitals were thernleast addressed. Consequently, the study recommends considering the growing importance ofrnsocial responsibility in Ethiopia, private hospitals need to pay more attention to theirrnenvironmental practicesin particular and their corporate social activities in general.
