Burn patients are at risk of acquiring infection because of the loss of skin barrier and suppressedrnimmune system, compounded by prolonged hospitalization and invasive therapeutic procedures.rnSince specialized burn units were non-existent in Ethiopia before the establishment of one atrnYekatit 12 hospital, Addis Ababa, no study was done on burn patients in the country. Hence, tornstudy the microbiology of burn patients admitted at Yekatit 12 hospital, a prospective study wasrnundertaken on 52 patients from March to August 2005. Periodic swabs were taken from the burnrnpatients as well as from the patients’ attendants, attending staffs, and the burn unit environment inrnorder to associate prevailing burn pathogens with endogenous or exogenous sources. The patternrnof colonization in the burn wound changed during the hospital stay from a predominance ofrnGram-positive bacteria (69.8%) at admission to Gram-negative bacteria (68.6%) after the secondrnweek. On comparing infected patients (n=38) with non-infected patients (n=14), there wasrnsignificant difference in age distributions (p=0.035), in burn types (p=0.017), hospital stayrn(p

Subsurface Intelligence & Critical Mineral Exploration

Modern Geology projects now focus on Machine Learning in Mineral Targeting, Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) Geologic Modeling, and Critical Mineral Systems (Lithium, REEs). If your research involves Hydrogeological Connectivity, Seismic Inversion, or Geotechnical Site Characterization, ensure your analysis follows the JORC or NI 43-101 reporting standards and utilizes robust 3D Subsurface Visualization and Geochemical Fingerprinting frameworks.
