Background: Pre-eclampsia is a common hypertensive disorder of pregnancy with a world widernprevalence rate of 3-5%. There is no curative drug to treat pre-eclampsia so far. Therefore,rnresearches on medicinal plants have paramount importance in discovering therapeutic and /orrnprotective agents from plants. rnObjective: To assesss the potential prophylactic and therapeutic effects of aqueous leaf extracts ofrnT. schimperi (ALETS) and M. stenopetala (ALEMS) on preeclampsia through regulatingrnhemodynamic variables of rat models. rnMethods: a comparative controlled experimental study was undertaken on nitric oxide-nitro-Largininernrnmethyl ester (L-NAME) induced pre-eclampsia rat models. Then hemodynamicrnparameters such as blood pressure and blood flow velocities were evaluated using rat tail cuffrnblood pressure recorder and Doppler flow meter, respectively.
