Foreign and Ethiopian scholars, have studied different Ethiopian chronicles andrnmade critical editions on the Ethiopian chronicles. Howeve0 these do not discusrnnarrative techniques.rnThis thesis thus, aims at analyzing the narrative structure, characterization,rnnarrative elements and; narrative times of the chronicle of Yonannes.rnThe thesis has four parts. The first chapter is the introductory part. It givesrnbackground information and the general outline of the paper. It also devotes tornthe theoretical part which deals with the approach of the four narrativerntechniques. Chapter two 0(1 narrative structure characterization and narrativernelements. Chapter three discusses order of narrative time, duration of narrativerntime, and frequency of narrative time. The fourth chapter is the conclusion.
