Excitation function of (a , xn) ) reaction on Ir -191 (abundance 37.3%) and Ir -193rn(abundance 62.7%) were studied for various energy range of alpha particle. Therncalculations were done using ALICE-91 computer code, which is based on GeometryrnDependent Hybrid (GDH) model. Various parameters were changed to see the effect onrnthe excitation functions. The calculated values were compared with experimental resultrnobtained from available literature. This comparison gives the best-fit parameters viz pld,rnexciton number, etc. Further this confirms that at these energies compound nucleusrntheory does not satisfy experimental results. There is sufficient proof of pre-equilibriumrndecay of the system
