Reaction cross section for (p, n) reaction in 45-Y and 89-Sc were studied for variousrnincident energy of proton and experimental results have been compared with the theoreticalrncalculated ones. Targets were isotopes of Yttrium and Scandium in the intermediate massrnranges .Excitation functions (EFs) for both reactions due to the various energies from thernthreshold have been studied. The theoretical analysis of the EFs has been done employingrnboth semi-classical and quantum mechanical codes which include compound nucleus andrnpre equilibrium emission into consideration. Effects of various free parameters used in therncalculations have also been discussed by the means of the graphs
