The Effectiveness Of Interpersonal Communication Skills Of Micro Enterprise Workers Living With Hivaids In Debre Berhan Town

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of interpersonalrncommunication skills of microenterprise workers who live with HIV/AIDS inrnDeber Berhan Town. To conduct the study, mixed research method wasrnemployed. The participants were selected by using simple random samplingrnparticularly, a lottery method. The data were collected from 80 workers from thernfour associations namely: Fikir Lenatoch, Endersallen, Tiwild Yidan andrnYesetoch Mahiber. The quantitative data were analyzed by using percentage,rnmean, frequency, one way ANOVA, and Pearson product moment correlation inrncombination with the qualitative data that was obtained through observation andrninterview. The findings of the study revealed that majority of the workers did notrnhave adequate interpersonal communication skills to exchange their ideas,rninformation, commodities and services with their customers accurately. Amongrnthe factors that affect their communication were lack of adequate education,rnpsychological, social and economic factors were reported. Finally, it wasrnrecommended that the concerned bodies particularly, non governmentrnorganizations that are found in Deber Berhan Town should create opportunitiesrnto provide short term training, to enhance workers communication skills andrndevelop different programs such as awareness and teaching the society tornchange their attitude about the people who live with HIV/AIDS
