The purpose of this study was to assess the role and contribution of PBS program in supportingrnthe decentralized education service delivery in the study Woreda in view of adequacy ofrnrecurrent budget and availability of skilled manpower for the provision of education servicerndelivery in the Woreda. The study was conducted at Ada Woreda of Oromia National RegionalrnState. To meet the above objective, In-depth interviews, and questionnaire were conducted withrnkey informants and professionals. Data for the research was collected from primary sources ofrndata with the help of interview guide and questionnaire. Secondary data was also equallyrnreviewed to assess the nature and performance of decentralization on education service deliveryrnin Woreda. According to the results of the study the student net enrolment rate and pupil-rnTeacher ratio in the Woreda show that improvement. The finding also indicated that EducationrnOffice of Woreda and school are found to have relatively sufficient manpower, which appears tornhave positively impacted the service of the office in the Woreda. These result from the PBSrnprogram support. As stated by the information obtained from officials through interviewsrnindicated that, Woreda suffered from inadequate operation cost and capital budget. Despite thernblock grant transfer increase from year to year for the Woreda, the revenue capacity of thernWoreda was minimum because, of the Woreda lack of appropriate tax base identification.rnKey words: PBS Program, Service Delivery, Education and Decentralization
