Kaizen is originated in Japan in 1950s as one of means that has been used widelyrnin Asia to improve elements associated with the effectiveness of businessrnorganizations, with mainly benefits already well documented. The Government ofrnEthiopia, inspired by the practicality of the Kaizen Policy in the business firms,rnadopted it as an exemplary approach and tool of growth and development in Julyrn2009. This study attempted to investigate the achievements and pinpoint thernchallenges of Kaizen theory implementation through basic Kaizen tools like 5s andrnwaste elimination in Sino Ethiop in Addis Ababa. Descriptive and inferentialrnmethods were used to gather information about the present conditions in therncompanies. The purpose of employing this method is to describe the nature of thernsituation, as it exists at the time of the study and to explore the causes of particularrnphenomena.In order to achieve the aim of the study, the researcher used non-rnprobability purposive sampling technique to select the managers and simplernrandom sampling for kaizen promotion teams and facilitators and, operationalrnworkers. Questionnaire and semi structured interview are used as data collectionrninstruments .through the implementation of kaizen Sino Ethiop Pharmaceuticalrncompany.Data collection techniques like site-observation, photographs,rnquestionnaires dissemination, interview, and reviewing literatures were employed.rnFor the statistical analysis, Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS)-Versionrn20 and Excel Spreadsheet were used. Various aspects of Kaizen implementationrnimpacts in relation to quality and productivity improvements through 5S and wasternelimination were assessed by classifying the subject into three categories: Level ofrnimplementation, Results/output of implementation and Challenges ofrnimplementation process. The result showed that there is a strong significantrnpositive relationship between training and education, kaizen tools, kaizen pillarsrnwith kaizen achievements. The kaizen tools were positively and significantlyrncorrelated with quality, productivity, and profit. So as to utilize the effectivernimplementation of kaizen the organization should work to train and educaternemployees about kaizen.
