This study assesses the major factors affecting women economic empowerment in Micro andrnsmall enterprises MSE of Yeka sub city. A sample of 92 women entrepreneurs engaged in fourrnsectors such as manufacturing, construction, trade and service were taken for the study usingrnstratified sampling. Data collected through questioner and interview of key informants, after therndata has been collected, it was analyzed using simple statistical techniques (tables andrnpercentages) and descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviations). The results of the studyrnexplicitly described challenges of women economic empowerment in MSEs. The research alsornfound out that the Education, saving and training on management has a statistically significantrnimpact on affecting women economic empowerment. Regarding the government support servicesrnthe study figured out Training and consultancy support, financial support and the provision ofrnworking premises are the dominant supports by the government. When it comes to thernconstraints for the implementations of government support services the research indicates accessrnto market and access for finance are the major barriers in this regard. Based on the majorrnfindings, recommendations were forwarded to existing and potential entrepreneurs, MSEs,rnMicro finances and other government bodies.rnKey word: women economic empowerment, micro and small enterprises
