The main objective of the study was to investigate the relationship between conformity and riskyrnbehavior among adolescents in conflict with the law at remand home and rehabilitation center. Itrnwas also aimed to investigate gender difference on conformity and risky behavior between malernand female adolescents. Moreover the difference among early, middle and late adolescents onrnconformity and risky behavior was investigated. Quantitative data were collected from 111rnrespondents who were in conflict with the law at The Remand Home and Rehabilitation Center.rnAll available adolescents between the ages of 11 to 17who were in conflict with the law at thernremand home and rehabilitation center were selected. The data was analyzed through variousrnstatistical techniques which include frequency, percentage, mean, independent sample t-test, onernway ANOVA, post hoc analysis, Pearson and correlation coefficient. The results of the studyrnshowed that, conformity and risky behavior among adolescents have strong direct relationship.rnAdolescents who conform more to other were found to be more vulnerable to risky behavior. Itrnshowed that, an adolescent who conform more to others behavior, engages in risky behaviorrnmore than that of who conform less. The study showed that, there was no significant differencernbetween male and female adolescents who were in conflict with the law in conformity as well asrnin risky behaviors. The study also showed, there was significant difference among early, middlernand late adolescents in conformity and risky behavior. Late adolescents found to be morernconformant and engage in risky behavior more than early and middle adolescents. This possiblyrncould be late adolescents’ awareness and exposure to social context is higher than early andrnmiddle adolescents. When their exposure increases, they might consider acting in accordancernwith the demand of others which might increase late adolescents’ susceptibility for conformityrnand risky behaviors than early and middle adolescents. The study concluded that, conformity andrnrisky behavior have strong direct relationship among adolescents in conflict with the law. Therndifference between male and female adolescents in conflict with the law in conformity and riskyrnbehavior was very minimal. Conformity and risky behavior were higher in late adolescents thanrnearly and middle adolescents who are in conflict with the law. So, remand home and otherrnsectors like schools where adolescents found vastly, have to work with behavioral and socialrnexperts to find possible ways of solving problems in relation to conformity and risky behaviorrnamong adolescents.
