The purpose of this study was to assess the practice and challenges of Human ResourcernDevelopment in some selected government TVET colleges of Addis Ababa. The studyrnwas carried out in three government TVET colleges of Addis Ababa, EntotornPolytechnic, Misrak Polytechnic and General wingate TVET College. To conduct thernstudy stratified simple random sampling techniques were employed. The data gatheringrninstruments used was questionnaire, interview, focused group discussions andrndocument observation. Human Resource Development needs assessment was notrnconducted accordingly to identify the gap. Based on the major findings the studentrnresearcher suggests the following: Human Resource Development Program has to berndesigned for manager and other staff personnel. Human resource developmentrnprogram has to be get due attention from MOE and TVET colleges to the collegerntrainers. Training methods have to be chosen on clear criteria, post training evaluationrnhas to be taken place in order to the program. Participation of stakeholder involvementrnhas to be increase in order to accomplish the objectives of TVET colleges
