The major concern of this study was to examme the extent to whichrnpsychological variables (trait anxiety, cognitive anxiety, intrinsic motivation andrnself- confidence) predict players' performance in a game. Selections of 100rnsubjects were done by using proportional random sampling. Data wererngathered by using SMS, SCAT and C SAT-2. Performance of each player wasrnobtained from each coach. The Data collected through these instruments werernanalyzed by Pearson product moment correlation, multiple and step wisernregression statistical techniques. Results obtained through correlati~n displayedrnthat negative and significant relationship was found between self- confidencernand performance, between intrinsic motivation and performance. Cognitivernanxiety, on the other hand, positively and significantly correlated withrnperformance of the players. Multiple regression analysis revealed that cognitivernanxiety, trait anxiety and self- confidence were independently significantrnpredictors of performance.
