The main purpose of this study was to assess the services Save Our Souls Children's Village,rnMekelle (SOS) provide for orphan children namely: - food, housing, clothing, health, education,rnand counseling service as per the objective of the organi zation and the agreement signed betweenrnSOS Children's Village(SOS) and Bureau of Labor and Social Affaire(BOLSA).rnA total of 113 purposefully selected participants (104 SOS vi llage children, 5 projectrnimplementers and 4 goverrunental officials) were participated in the study.rnDifferent instruments (questionnaire, interview and focus group discussion) were employed torncollect data. Percentage was used to analysis the data.rnAccording to the results of the study majority of the participants (75.0 %,77.9%,76.9%, 88.5%)rnindicated that food, housing, clothing, and health services provided by the institution arernsufficient. Moreover, the majority of the respondents (78. 8%) reported that the educationrnservi ces (education material, school uniform, school fee) rendered by SOS are adequate.rnAccording to the findings of the study many respondents (64.4%) claimed that the counselingrnservice offered by the institution is inadequate. The study showed that the majority of childrenrnrespondents (62.5%, 79.8%, 55.8 %.) encountered psychological, social, and personal problemrnrespectively.rnThus, according to the study results food, housing, clothing, health, and education services arernadequate and in line with the agreement signed among SOS Children's Village and Bureau ofrnLabour and Social Affaire. However, the counse ling service provided is not enough to the orphanrnchi ldren in the institution. That is why many children participants experienced psychological,rnsocial and personal problems.rnThe study recommends the provision adequate counsel ing services, psychosocial support forrnorphan children in the institution.
