The objective of this research is to identify the major problems of women who have taken shortrnterm training from micro-Small enterprises and other training providers and currently involvingrnin income generating activities in sample selected areas of Addis Ababa City Administration andrnto suggest possible recommendations. In order to gather relevant information from respondentsrndescriptive survey method was employed. More over, four (4) sub-cities, and from each onernkebele were selected by using simple random sampling method. Two hundred and ten (210)rnwomen beneficiary (WE) and twenty (20) Micro-Small Enterprise OffiCials (MSEO) are selectedrnby using simple random and purposive sampling methods respectively. Based on the basicrnquestions of the study, the collected data through two main groups of questionnaires are analyzedrnand interpreted. The research results revealed that raising income levels through incomerngenerating activities for poor women was not sufficient. This is largely attributed to lack ofrnappropriate training, lack of productive training experience, addressing insufficient startingrncapital and above all, lack of working and marketing places are the crucial problems. Therefore,rngiving appropriate training, which is supported by practice, accessing these women to creditrnschemes, addressing conducive working and marketing places are essentials for the sustainabilityrnof women income generating activities.
