A Study Of The Structure And Organization Of The Department Of Archaeology Museum Ahmadu Bello University Zaria

This research deals with the structure and organization of the Department of Archaeology Museum, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. Its main aim is to appraise the Museum’s functions and its organizational structure then provides solutions. This is with the view to ascertaining it’s educational, cultural and tourist potentials to the University Community at large. More so, the methodology adopted for the research involves; literature review, oral interview, examination of the standard of museums set by the National Commission for Museum and Monuments, and the examination of the entire objects in the Department of Archaeology Museum. The research established the problems faced by the museum such as lack of space, staffing and documentation of artifacts in the museum and proffered solutions to its structure and organization in line with N.C.M.M. It has also contributed immensely to the aspect of written records about the museum. It is therefore hoped that it will serve as a basis for further research work, being the first of its kind.
