A Study Of The Structure And Organization Of The Department Of Archaeology Museum Ahmadu Bello University Zaria

This research deals with the structure and organization of the Department ofArchaeology Museum, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. Its main aim is to appraise theMuseum’s functions and its organizational structure then provides solutions. This is withthe view to ascertaining it’s educational, cultural and tourist potentials to the UniversityCommunity at large. More so, the methodology adopted for the research involves;literature review, oral interview, examination of the standard of museums set by theNational Commission for Museum and Monuments, and the examination of the entireobjects in the Department of Archaeology Museum. The research established theproblems faced by the museum such as lack of space, staffing and documentation ofartifacts in the museum and proffered solutions to its structure and organization in linewith N.C.M.M. It has also contributed immensely to the aspect of written records aboutthe museum. It is therefore hoped that it will serve as a basis for further research work,being the first of its kind.
