University of Bristol Think Big Scholarships 2027 in the UK: Up to £26,000 for International Students

Applications are now open for the University of Bristol Think Big Scholarships 2027, the university's flagship funding scheme for international students starting in September 2027. The University of Bristol has invested up to £5 million in Think Big scholarships for the 2027 intake, helping students with overseas fee status fund full-time undergraduate and master's study in Bristol, England.

This is a partial funding opportunity, not a fully funded scholarship. Think Big awards are applied as a tuition fee discount, not paid as cash, and they do not cover living costs on their own. Successful applicants should still plan funding for accommodation, living costs, books and travel, although living-cost stipends and bursaries can be held alongside a Think Big award.

What does the scholarship cover?

Think Big undergraduate scholarships are valued at £6,500 or £13,000 per year, applied as a tuition fee discount for up to four years of study, provided you make satisfactory progress with an average mark above 50% each year.

Think Big postgraduate scholarships are valued at £3,000, £6,500, £13,000 or £26,000 for the first year of study, applied as a tuition fee discount.

One application form covers the international scholarships you are eligible for, including Think Big awards offered with faculties, alumni and external partners, so you do not need to submit a separate form for each partner award.

Who can apply? Eligibility requirements

For undergraduate scholarships, you must:

- Have applied for a full-time undergraduate course delivered in person at the University of Bristol

- Be classed as an overseas student for tuition fee purposes

- Have received an offer to study at the University of Bristol before Friday 19 March 2027 — if you have not, the university will withdraw your scholarship application

- Meet or exceed the entry requirements stated in your formal UCAS offer before 31 August 2027

- Confirm the University of Bristol as your Firm choice in UCAS

For postgraduate scholarships, you must:

- Have applied for a full-time, in-person master's programme at the University of Bristol

- Be classed as an overseas student for tuition fee purposes

- Have received an offer to study at the University of Bristol before Friday 19 March 2027 — if you have not, the university will withdraw your scholarship application

- Meet or exceed the entry requirements stated by the University of Bristol

Awards are valid for entry in September 2027 only and cannot be deferred to a later year. If you receive more than one study offer, you must choose one for your scholarship application. You cannot combine a Think Big scholarship with another University of Bristol funded tuition fee discount, except that the Alumni Discount is applied after the Think Big award, and the higher-value award or discount applies where both exist.

How to apply: step-by-step

1. Apply to study at the University of Bristol for September 2027 and receive your application ID. You must have applied to study before starting your scholarship application.

2. Complete the University of Bristol international scholarships online application form. You only need to fill in one form to be considered for the international scholarships you are eligible for.

3. Make sure you have an offer to study before 19 March 2027, and, for undergraduates, confirm Bristol as your Firm choice in UCAS and meet your offer conditions before 31 August 2027.

4. Submit your Think Big scholarship application before the deadline below. The university notes that it may prioritise applicants who apply earlier in the year.

5. Outcomes are shared in early May 2027, with an offer-holder deadline to accept the scholarship at the end of May 2027 and award letters shared in July 2027.
