IntroductionrnThe emergence of multi-drug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) is a challenge for the globalrnprevention and control of the disease. Ethiopia is one of the 30 MDR-TB burden countries.rnAddressing underlying risk factors is one of the principal ways to prevent drug resistant TB. rnMoreover, there is little research evidence of MDR-TB from the peripheral areas of the country. rnObjective: to identify determinants of MDR-TB among patients attending anti tuberculosisrntreatment from peripheral districts, Southern Nations, Nationalities and People Region, Ethiopia,rn2019. rnMethods: Hospital based case control study was conducted from March to April, 2019 inrnSouthern Ethiopia. Cases were confirmed MDR-TB patients, while controls were those whorndeclared cured or completed first line ant-TB treatment. Stratified random sampling techniquernwas used to recruit study participants. The data were entered into Epi data 4.4.3, cleaned andrnanalyzed by SPSS 24. Bivariate and multivariable analyses were used to identify determinants ofrnMDR-TB. Determinants with P-value
