IntroductionrnThe emergence of multi-drug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) is a challenge for the globalrnprevention and control of the disease. Ethiopia is one of the 30 MDR-TB burden countries.rnAddressing underlying risk factors is one of the principal ways to prevent drug resistant TB. rnMoreover, there is little research evidence of MDR-TB from the peripheral areas of the country. rnObjective: to identify determinants of MDR-TB among patients attending anti tuberculosisrntreatment from peripheral districts, Southern Nations, Nationalities and People Region, Ethiopia,rn2019. rnMethods: Hospital based case control study was conducted from March to April, 2019 inrnSouthern Ethiopia. Cases were confirmed MDR-TB patients, while controls were those whorndeclared cured or completed first line ant-TB treatment. Stratified random sampling techniquernwas used to recruit study participants. The data were entered into Epi data 4.4.3, cleaned andrnanalyzed by SPSS 24.
