ABSTRACT rnBackground: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is defined as an illness caused by a novel rncorona virus now called SARS-CoV-2 and declared as global health emergency on January rn30, 2020 and global pandemic on 11 March, 2020 by WHO. As healthcare professionals are rnfrontline workers to fight against the pandemic and to save lives of the people contracting rnthe disease, there is shortage of information in knowledge, attitude and practices of rnhealthcare professionals regarding COVID-19 in Ethiopia. rnObjective: To assess knowledge, attitude and practice towards COVID-19 and determinant rnfactors among healthcare professionals working in North Wollo Governmental Hospitals. rnMethods: Institution based cross-sectional descriptive study design was utilized to asses rnknowledge, attitude and practice towards COVID-19 and determinant factors among 250 rnhealthcare professionals. The sample size was determined by using a formula for estimating rna single population proportion. Data collection carried out using self-administered structured rnquestionnaire and analysed using SPSS version 25. Bivariate and multivariate logistic rnregression analysis was implemented to identify determinant factors at a significance level rnof p < 0.05 and 95%CI. Data were presented by tables and narrative forms accordingly. rnResults: 230 healthcare professionals participated in the study with a response rate of 92%. rn83.9% and 72.2% have good knowledge and practice respectively, 94.8% have favourable rnattitude. A respondent with Bachelor degree, respondent who has infection prevention rnguideline in the hospital and participants who took training on infection prevention were rnsignificantly associated with good knowledge, favourable attitude and good practice. rnConclusion: The overall level of knowledge and attitude was good. However, the practice rnwas relatively low.
