The main purpose of the research was to analyze thernautomotive industry and its trend in Ethiopia. In recent years,rnthe contribution of the automotive sector is increasing and itrnis playing important role in the national economy. Although thernautomotive sector is playing significant role, it is still atrnlow level and many factors contributed for that, including:rn• Government regulationsrn• Road conditionsrn• Purchasing power of the peoplern• Lack of skilled manpower and capacityrn• Shortage of capitalrnTo address those issues, the researcher used both primaryrnand secondary data. The collected data were analyzed and thernresult of the analysis was summarized in to positive andrnnegative aspects.rnIt was revealed that the positive aspects; contribution tornthe national economy, future growth prospect, employmentrnopportunity and profitability of the operation outweigh thernnegative aspects.rnAs the research had scope and limitations, it was recommended tornthe governing authorities to undertake further studies to makernan informed decision on how to support the growth andrndevelopment of the automotive industry in Ethiopia.
