This study aimed at empirically establishing whether succession planning practices exist in EastrnAfrica Bottling S.C and the extent to which such practices had been implemented. In addition, itrnaimed to establish the impact of such practices have on employee retention in the organization.rnThe design of the study adopted was descriptive research, and data was collected usingrnquestionnaires and interview to management staffs which were purposely selected, stratified andrnsimple randomly selected of the organization. Both descriptive and inferential statistics werernused to analyze the data. The data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sociencesrn(SPSS). The findings showed that there is high level of succession planning practicesrnimplementation in the organization. The findings also showed that the independent variablesrn(succession planning, working environment, career development, reward and benefit andrnperformance management) have positive impact on the dependent variable (employee retention).rnThe study has some limitations on the basis of which, it is suggested to the future scholars tornconduct a study in industry level instead of on specific organization
