Assessment Of Social Responsibility In The Leather Industry (a Case Of Selected Companies In Addis Ababa)

This paper presents an assessment of social responsibility in selected leatherrnprocessing firms in Add is Ababa prompted by the need to understand its paramountrnimportance in conducting business activities. The paper tried to assess how theserncompanies are discharging their social responsibility towards employees, thernenvironment and the local community. In order to collect data both primary andrnsecondary data collection tools are used. The primary data collection methods arernquestionnaire and interview and the secondary data are obtained from the Internet,rndifferent books, various related documents journals and newspapers.rnThe project indemnified that the industry has got a lot to do to be recognized as onernwhich is conducting its business in a socially responsible way especially towardsrnemployees, environment and the society. Finally the paper recommended that thernindustry should try to be more responsible to the above stake holders so as to berncompetitive and survive in the business for long.
