HOW TO IMPROVE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION OF CASSAVA, MAIZE AND YAM (A CASE STUDY OF ENUGU-EAST LOCAL GOVERNMENT )
This research work: How to improve agricultural production of cassava, Maize and yam using Enugu-East local government Area as a case study was carried out in survey of the programmers and polices constitute the government in mobilizing increase quality of cassava, maize and yam, aimed at facilitating the attainment of self-sufficiency in Agricultural productivity in the country. In an attempt to achieve the objective of this work, the researcher went intensively to analyze the importance of agricultural productivity, and also analyze the method of cultivation, propagation, harvest and strange. The constraints as a well as opportunities to achieving this gesture was identified. Finally, the findings of this research work was summarized and recommendation were given which is meant to encourage further policies, programmers and research on this project.

CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
In Enugu-East, the project tries to look and how to increase the production of arable crop such as maize, cassava and yam. The production of these crops in large quality of commercialization to sustain food security for the teeming population. Most inhabitations survive through agriculture which is they major acceptation in subsistence form.
However, one wonders why it is taking the local government so long to revitalize the agricultural sector despite its abundant land and know how. When this is done it will save the inhabitants of Enugu-East who are both Kwashiorkor or stricken and under monished.
While emphasizing the important of improving agricultural production of maize, cassava and yam, it is now clear to the government that dependency on external sources of food supply can be solved.
According to Enugu state journal, agriculture was the back bone of the states economic development and over 95% of the labour force was mostly form rural areas. Agricultural also, helped in the production of cassava into floor for bread industries, maize for custards and yam for fufu. All these necessitated the government to organize ways of helping peasant framers in improving production with a view of having massive food production and attainment of self sufficiency in agricultural production in the country.
1.5 STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
There have been concerted effort by the government and the organized private sector to enhance productivity of maize, cassava and yam in Nigeria in spite of all the efforts bring made agricultural sector still experience the following.
· Then is low supply of food and raw material from maize, cassava and yam.
· There is financial challenge affecting farmer.
· The poor transportation and communication
· There is high-jaking of farm seedlings and fertilizers subside to farmers.
· The lack of modern farm implement that cause low productivity in Enugu-East.
1.6 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
The general aim of this project work is to undertake a study on how to improve agricultural production of yaw, cassava and yam.
1. To find out ways of increasing production in large quantity of better quality with references to Enugu-East.
2. To determine the barillas and constraints facing the farmer
3. To recommend solution to farmers which will possible enhance their productivity.
4. How agricultural researcher work can improve production.
