Phytochemical Investigation On Aerial Parts Of Verbena Offcinalis

Chloroform extract of aerial parts of Verbena Officinalis afforded ursolic acid methylrnester (VOD) whereas methanol extract gave Iridoid glycoside; Vebenaline (VOG). Thernstructural elucidation of these compounds were conducted using 1H NMR, 13C NMR, 2DrnNMR (COSY, HSQC, & HMBC), and UV & IR spectra. Moreover, 1H NMR & protonrndecupled 13C NMR spectrum of these two compounds matched with the literature valuesrnof previously reported.
