Alcoholic beverages are any fermented or distilled liquids such as wine, beer, whisky, ouzo,rngin, etc. Ouzo is one type of distilled alcoholic beverage with alcoholic content of 40 to 43 %rnflavored by anethole extracted from anise, star anise or fennel plant. In this study thernconcentration of selected metals (Na, Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, Mn, Co, Cr, Pb, Cu, Ni and Cd) inrndifferent Ethiopian ouzo brands (Kokeb, National, Liyu Addis, Victoria and Belezaf)rnsampled from different supermarket in Addis Ababa were analysed. Known volume of ouzornsamples were digested by using 2 mL of H2NO3 and 5 mL of H2O2 for 90 minutes at arntemperature of 180 C0. The levels of the minerals in the digested ouzo samples were analyzedrnby using flame atomic absorption spectrometer.
