The root~·bark powder of Croton macrostachys Hochstex. A.rnRich. (Euphorbeaceae) (ብሳና), used in Ethiopia for curingrnspreading wounds, was extracted with diethyl ether. The crudernextract, on fractionation by column chromatography (Silica gel)rnyielded a major solid compound A (mp 210'-212o) crystallizablernfrom acetone~methanol (9:1) into beautiful needle aggregates, rnthe structure of -Ihich was identifted, using IR, PMR and MSrndata, to be that of lupeol, a known antitumor agent. Therntumor inhibitory compound Crot-poxide which was previouslyrnisolated from the fruits could not be detected in the root~rnbark extract. Preliminary investigation also showed thernpresence of trace solids Band C having the same Rf on TLC.rnB was water isoluble .,hi te solid while C was water solublernand sho~led strong blue fluorescence under UV-lamp. Thernpresence of quaternary alkaloid was also confirmed in thernroot-bark.

Subsurface Intelligence & Critical Mineral Exploration

Modern Geology projects now focus on Machine Learning in Mineral Targeting, Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) Geologic Modeling, and Critical Mineral Systems (Lithium, REEs). If your research involves Hydrogeological Connectivity, Seismic Inversion, or Geotechnical Site Characterization, ensure your analysis follows the JORC or NI 43-101 reporting standards and utilizes robust 3D Subsurface Visualization and Geochemical Fingerprinting frameworks.
