Complexes of silver (I) with anthranilic acid, N-phenyl anthranilic acid, 1-rnnitroso-2-naphthol and 2-nitroso-l-naphthol have been synthesized. The yield of all therncomplexes have been found to be very goode> 80%). The physical properties of therncomplexes have been studied. The complexes were found to be free from nitrate ionrnwhich indicated that the complexes were not in the form of ion pairs but were neutralrnspecies. All the complexes have been found to be insulators and not conductors. Therncomposition of all the complexes were found to have a I: I (M: L)molar ratio. All therncomplexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, electronic, infrared andrnnuclear magnetic resonance spectral studies and tentative structures of the complexesrnhave been suggested.
