Phytochemical Investigation On The Leaves Of Senna Sophera

The chloroform extract of Senna sophera leaves, after repeated chromatographyrnseparation have yielded three bianthraquinones. Three of these were identified tornbe floribundone-1(52),10-hydroxfloribundone-2 (V) and 5,7’-physcion-fallacinolrn(74). To the best of our knowledge, there is no prior report on the isolation of 10-rnhydroxyfloribundone-2 from any Senna species. 5, 7’-physcion-fallacinol reportedrnfor the first time from the plant and floribundone-1 was isolated earlier from thernplant.
