Two compounds, chamaiulene and dsvanonernwere isolated from the oil and characterized using ir , nmrrnand ms•rnDavanone (44/) and Camphor (27/) were found to bernthe major constituents of the oil.rnCymbopogon citratus which is also widely grown inrnthe tropics , is used as a. crop plant in many countries ofrnthe Western Hemisphere.'
