The electrochemical behaviour of the three compounds (pyrrole, thiophene and aniline) wasrnstudied by various electroanalytical teclmiques (dc and ac-cyclic voltammetry, linear sweeprnvoltammetry, chronoamperometry, chronocoulometry). The influence of ~weep rate on thernvoItammetric behaviour of pyrrole and 3-methyIthiophene in nitrobenzene is discussed. The -rneffect of anoding switching potential on the voItammetric behavior of pyrrole is alsorndiscussed. An attempt was made to prepare polythiophene film in nitrobenzene usingrnvarious-supporting electrolytes (lithium perchlorate, tetrabutylammonium perchlorate, rntetraethylammonium tetrafluoroborate) on different electrodes. But no polymer was formed.rnThe ac-cyclic and impedance measurement teclmiques were used to characterize anilinernoxidation in sulfuric acid. The variation of the peak current with frequency is discussed.rnAlso the cyclic voltammograms of polyaniline film coated Pt electrode obtained in sulfuricrnacid were studied. The impedance spectroscopy of polyaniline film in the direction of thernpotential scan from positive to negative and from negative to positive has also been studied
