A glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was modified with electropolymerization of 4-Amino-3-rnHydroxynaphthalene-1-Sulphonic acid (AHNSA) in 0.1M HNO3 using cyclic voltammetry. Thernmodified electrode showed an excellent electrocatalytic effect on the redox property of MethylrnParathion. The bare glassy carbon electrode could barely sense the 8 M concentration solutionrnof MPT. The modified electrode showed all the expected peaks from the MPT with highrnsensitivity. After the optimization of Different parameters, analytical characterization of MPTrnwas made. The peak current increases linearly with the range of concentration of MPT used inrnthe analysis (0.2 M-1.6 M). The detection limit was 6.3 x 10-8M by square wave voltammetry.rnThe modified electrode has successfully been applied for the detection of MPT.rnKey words: Conducting Polymers, Electropolymerization, Organophosphorous Pesticides,rnAHNSA, Methyl Parathion, Voltammetric technique
