The dichlorotetrapyridineCobalt(lll) complexes ~co(PY)4C12 ~ X(X = Cl- ,rnN~-, 01°rn4rn-, 1°rn4rn-, SCN-, N~-) were synthesized and oharacterized by usingrnelemental analysis and speotroscopio techniques. The spectral data forrncomplexes in the UV, Vis ("'"rn~.../ J- Irn), and IR ( t (Co-Cl), V(Co-N»rnregions have been determined.rnFrom conduotivity measurement equivalent conductivity at infinite dilutionrn( ~) and association constants (KA) were estimated in various solvents.rn"rnNon-linear oorrelation of the association conetant of the medium has beenrnshown. Larger assooiation constants for 104- and SCN-, whereas lowerrnassociation constants for NO~- and Cl- salts were found.rnRates of aquation of the complexes were measured in water as a functionrnof Co-solvents (50:50); (v/v), and with the different composition of ethanol;rnand faster rate of aquations were Observed for SCN- and NO~- and slower forrn104- oounter ions.rnThe nuoleophilic order of the oounter ions of the complexes was alsornestablished. The increasing order of the nuoleophilicity of the oounterionsrnwas found as follows:SON- < No-3 < CI< CIO4 –C
