The Role Of Womens Participation In Leadership And Decision Making Position The Caseof Ginnir Town Administration Inoromia Regional State.

The reason that the magnitude of women’s participation in leadership and decision rnmaking position is insufficient in public sector. The objective of this study is to examine thernrole of women’s participation in leadership and decision making position in the case of rnGinnir town administration. Descriptive and explanatory survey design and mixed (both rnquantitative and qualitative) approaches were used in this study. Primary and secondary rndata were gathered from public service officials including men and women through rninterview and questionnaire.16 men for questionnaire and four men for interviewees were rnselected through purposive sampling method .whereas census was the technique rnimplemented to approach 86 women. From 235 target population of the study, 106 sample rnsizes was selected of which 106 respondents respond accordingly with a response rate of rn100%. Data analyzed using descriptive and summarized as well as presented using rnfrequency and percentage. The study clearly indicate that women participation in rnleadership and decision making position was low as the result of traditional ,socio cultural, educational gap, gender bias, ineffective policy implementation and women’s rnhousehold and workload .The study recommends that ,public institution should provide to rncombating gender bias ,socio-cultural factors ,discrimination, superiority feeling, rneliminating gender disparities in primary and secondary education and traditional attitude rn,that difficult facing for women towards leadership ,and decision making position as well rnas in staff too
