The main purpose of this study was to assess the incidence of depression, anxiety and stressrnamong internally displaced people from Somali and Oromia regions border. To achieve thisrnpurpose the cross-sectional survey designs were used. Sample of 228 (114 males and 114rnfemales) youths were selected through purposive sampling technique as research participant.rnThe measures used for data collection were Harvard Trauma Questionnaire-Cambodian Versionrn(14 items) and DASS 42 items. Descriptive Statistics (mean, frequency and percentages) andrninferential statistics (T-Test, One Way ANOVA, and Pearson Correlation) were used to analyzernthe data. Tables, frequencies, and percentages were used to analyze trauma events and incidencernof depression, anxiety and stress. Independent Samples T-test and One Way ANOVA were usedrnto examine sex and marital statuses difference in depression, anxiety and stress scores ofrninternally displaced people. In addition, Pearson Correlation was used to examine relationshiprnbetween depression, anxiety and stress scores of internally displaced people. Thus, the findingsrnof the present study revealed that the incidence of depression(89.9%) and anxiety(93.4%) werernhigh among internally displaced youths. The T- Test and One Way ANOVA results showed thatrnthere were no statistically significant differences in depression, anxiety, and stress scores neitherrnbetween males and females, nor between those who have married, unmarried and widowed.rnMoreover, the Pearson Correlation result showed positive correlation between the depression,rnanxiety and stress scores of respondents. It was concluded that there were high incidence ofrnanxiety and depression among internally displaced youths who were exposed to different traumarnevents at the time of displacement
