The primary objective of this research was to examine the major causes, methods, and rnmarital satisfactions of married couples in Akaki Kality Sub-City. In pursuit of thesernobjectives, mixed research design was employed in the study. The quantitative aspect rnconsisted of questionnaire (with open-and close-ended items) administered to a sample of rn357 participants that were selected through systematic random sampling. Qualitative rndata were collected through open-ended question in the questionnaire. Descriptive rnstatistical (frequency, percentage, and crosstabs), chi-square techniques were used to rnanalyze quantitative data. Qualitative data were analyzed qualitatively. Findings rnindicated that the major causes of marital discord in terms of its domain were rncommunication, gender role, psychological, and economic factors. While, regarding most rncommon mechanisms they used to resolve marital discords were accommodation, rncollaboration, compromise, and avoidance. The marital satisfaction levels of married rncouple almost half of them were dissatisfied whereas half of them were dissatisfied.rnFinally, based on these findings, conclusions and recommendations were drawn.
