The major pwpose of this study was to u1Vestigate the status oj the ut ilization ofrnmaterial resources 'in the skill development centers of Tigray reYLOIl. nnd makernrecommendations for improvement.rnThe areas of concern were the various activities pertaining to the utilization ofrnmaterial resourres. These are the utilization and handling of material resources,rnthe availability of appropriate personnel and guidelines, the conI ribution ofrnmaterial resources for the impl'ementation of the curriculum, the professionalrntraining and experience of principals and supportive staffrnTo this end, descriptive survey method was employed. Apart from interview ofrnfour principals and four woreda educational officers, data were gathered form 80rnprofessionals, 20 supportive staffs. The data obtained from questionuo ires werernClnalyzed using statistical tools lilce, percentage, chi-square and t-(c'l computerrnassisted Ms-SPSS program method.rnThe data from the questionnaire analysis indicated that the status q{ utilizationrnof material resources ilL the skill development center of Tigmy is lUlU. In Lhernstudy, from all the centers were considered, opinion, comments and s ll(Jgestionsrnwere gathered from principals, professionals and supportive sWJJs throughrnquestionnaires.rnSome of the major finding includes: the SDC are not in a positIOn to .. uilize theirrnresources effectively. Most of the principals and supportive staffs do not have thernnecessary professional training and experience on their position and leadershiprnrole, misused and destroyed material resources in the training, no inventoryrnactivities, the participation of professionals and supportive staffs in planningrnwas low, the contribution of maten:al resources for curriculum implementationrnwas high, and late dissemination of budget from regional and woreda finance.rnHence, it is concluded thar, in most cases, the utilization of material resources ojrnall centers was the problem of the adrninistratwe problems.
